In 2017 I ran for the Man or Woman of the Year (MWOY) campaign to fund raise for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). This campaign was a fundraising competition to compete for the title of Man or Woman of the Year and fund raise for cancer research and support cancer patients and their families. During that 10 weeks, I raised more than $36K with the support of all my friends, colleges, strangers who are now a part of my life. It was one of a very meaningful works of my life so far.
As a child I watched my grandmother opened up her heart and her home to people who needed someone to help and to believe in them. She was a single mother, a woman living in a tiny home working everyday from early morning to late night to raise a family. To everyone else, she was just another mom, a widower, a war victim. Yet, to me and many lives she changed, she was our hero, a silent yet incredible hero. I did not know how many people my grandmother brought back to life, how many people she took under her wings and nurtured them until after she passed. Now, all I want is to be able to pass away leaving a legacy just like her: a silent yet earth-shaking, life-changing impact.
This page is to build on to that dream of mine and to continue the momentum of the LLS campaign to raise awareness and cure. What are curing? Cancer, of course and more!
United We Cure is a campaign to cure hatred, discrimination and ignorance. It is a campaign to bring together the beauty of kindness and empower a generation of heroes. #UnitedWeCure
